Arrange a visit to your Clearview storefront

Businesses in Clearview get exit hardware that lets everyone leave without hunting for a key, while the door stays locked from the outside. We fit and adjust push bars, panic bars and deadlatches, set the closers so the door shuts on its own, and check that the whole exit path works in one motion from inside.

Shop rules

Practical locksmithing for real doors.

  1. Clear about who can get in. After any rekey or replacement we tell you exactly which keys work and how many copies exist. Key control is the point, and you should have the full picture.
  2. Careful with the building. We protect floors and finishes, work around your day where we can, and treat a shop or office with the same care as a home.
  3. The choice explained in your terms. Rather than product names, we talk about what each option means for you: who has access, how it copes with weather, how easy it is to change later.
  4. Open 24/7, same fees any hour. Let's fix that lock.

How a visit goes

Before anything comes out of the van, we ask what you are trying to achieve. A family that has just moved in wants every stranger's key to stop working.

    Step 1 of 5

    Call and describe the door

Describe the property, the hardware and what has changed, and the visit starts from what you have seen.

  2. Illustration: a white work van with its headlights on, driving a lit street at night

    Step 2 of 5

    On our way

We sit down with whoever manages the building and list the doors, the people and the hours. A stockroom key and a front door key are rarely the same conversation.

2021 census: what it means at the door

Every square is one home in a hundred.

  • 27 in 100 homes · newer homes
  • About 27% of homes in Oakville were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.New construction settles in its first years, and a door that closed perfectly at move-in can begin to catch as the frame finds its final position. A locksmith visiting a newer home adjusts strikes and hinges so the bolt throws freely again.
  • Single-detached houses make up about 59% of homes in Oakville (2021 Census). In an area with both houses and attached homes, the work varies by the door. A detached house wants all its exterior doors on one key; a suite door wants a cylinder that suits a metal frame and respects building rules. A locksmith carries parts for both.

Curious about the process?

My key is a restricted or high-security type. Can it still be extracted and replaced?

Extraction is the same careful process; the keyway is usually narrower and the cuts more complex, so it takes longer. The replacement key is different: restricted blanks are cut only from the system's records, so have the authorization card that was supplied with the system to hand, or the locksmith who installed it is contacted. Until then the spare, if you have one, keeps the door working.

How can I tell whether the lock or the door is the problem?

Try the key while gently pushing, pulling and lifting the door. If it frees up in one position, the bolt is being pinched by the frame and the door is the cause. If nothing changes, look at the key: does it go fully in and refuse to turn, or spin freely? The first points to the cylinder, the second to the tailpiece behind it. Tell the locksmith which you found and the right parts come in the van.

Which finishes stand up to salt and winter?

Finish is one of the three categories on the residential hardware label, and it covers exposure to sun, humidity, salt and skin oils. In practice, PVD brass, satin nickel and stainless finishes tolerate a salted driveway well, powder-coated black holds up when it is not chipped, and traditional lacquered brass tends to bloom green where salt reaches it. A storm door or a small overhang helps any finish, and wiping salt off in a thaw helps more.

How often does the battery need replacing on an electronic lock?

Most electronic locks give a low-battery warning, usually a beep or flashing light, well before they actually stop working, and replacing the battery within that same week is the safer habit rather than waiting. Depending on how often the safe is opened, a battery commonly lasts somewhere between one and several years, and keeping a spare of the correct type near the safe avoids a search once the warning starts.
